At Varios we use a seven point business coaching process;

1. Setting goals – without goals decisions cannot be made as we don’t know what we want to achieve.
2. Looking and listening – actions and words need to be considered together rather than individually as it is the combined message we need to understand.
3. Empathising – being able to empathise with coachee’s and their situation is absolutely critical if we are to be able to give appropriate advice. If we can’t empathise then we need to change business coach.
4. Questioning – once we think we understand a situation it is important to question our understanding to achieve certainty and to gain buy in to the understanding.
5. Feedback – this is a further critical part of ensuring a common understanding and outcome.
6. Intuition – at this point the business coach will use his intuition (and experience) to identify the critical steps.
7. Checking – having gone through the above process we will probably have the right suggestions, but checking is still very valuable.
